What the crazy people sing

Late last night (3-4 am?), after the big false fire alarm down the street which drew about 3 fire trucks, plus paramedics, etc., a crazy dude was yelling (at someone?) loudly, for a while, and then he began singing this song as he walked off into the sunrise:

This best part was how his voice was fading in the distance as he bellowed "I've got to keep on movin'!"

P.S. Matthew Wilder has a face made for radio, doesn't he?

  2. Whoa, that song is from the '80s that still had its feet firmly planted in the '70s. Those dancers!

  3. Okay, I clicked through to youtube, and according to another video of the same performance, this was from Solid Gold. That explains a lot. According to Wikipedia, that show ran from 1980-88, which is weird because it was sooo '70s. I guess it was just kind of behind the times, but there were enough people nostalgic for the golden days of disco to keep it on the air.

  4. I think it took a few years into the 80s for full-on 80s-ness to totally permeate the music culture, so there were a bunch of guys with big 70s mustaches around for a while. My high school yearbook will back this up!

Also, I don't think everything about disco totally "died" at once--as long someone didn't wear a white three-piece suit and point his finger in the air, they wouldn't be tagged as "disco". Matthew Wilder has several more horrible videos on YouTube, if you dare--he eventually shaved the 'stache, though!

  5. I submit the following as good, if not great, 1980s fare. Murray Head:
