Agh...I just heard one of my least favorite clichéd comments on the radio. It usually goes like this.
Person 1: I think we could get a lot more accomplished by having a dialogue and trying to come to some understanding with them, to defuse the situation rather than escalating it.
Person 2: What do you want to do, hold hands and sing Kumbaya with them?
Stop implying that I want to sing 'Kumbaya'! It's tiresome!
I heard this again last night at Nordstrom while trying to stay out of the 100 degree heat. The version I heard was live solo piano, but here's a mod-looking Czech version from 1967:
Meet the unnamed protagonist of "I'm sick and tired of my job". Even though he is beat, his wife wants him to go out with her and their friends. What mood does the enigmatic expression on his face convey?
A. Anger
B. Good-natured resignation C. Neck strain D. Poor execution on the artist's part
I recently saw this promotional TV show for the movie "Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" on YouTube:
which has led to an unhealthy obsession for the song sung by "Hugo" (Harvey Lembeck) --fast forward to 2:29 if you want to see it. According to Wikipedia, the film was originally intended as a musical, but was retooled into a standard comedy caper. But some of the music ended up on the TV special. Give it a listen! Beebo loves it!
