Truth in advertising on Craig's List

Even though we moved into our new apartment on Tuesday (yay), I still occasionally check out the Craig's List ads for fun.  I was impressed by the honesty of this one:

"So as not to waste your time or mine, you should know that this unit is very 1980. Although everything works and is clean, few aesthetic improvements have been made. The living and dining area are parcay [sic] flooring with the bedrooms being carpeted."

 Fair enough!

  1. Yikes, I'd hate to have to try and unload an 80s style apartment! That's the worst kind of retro.

I guess some people wouldn't mind it. (Or notice it.) I bet the poster just got tired of hearing the comments and decided that announcing it upfront would be the best way to avoid hearing it.

  2. Eventually this could be desirable, although it's hard to imagine now. Remember when '50s decor and architecture was considered awful and tacky? And now it's "mid-century."

I wish the flooring had been described as Parkay (tm).
