Squirrels Go Mad For Coconuts

A pair of squirrels have taken their love of coconuts to a different level - by getting stuck into their favourite snacks.

The squirrels take a nibble out of their weekly coconut snacks.

They love them so much that they dive right inside the shells to get the last tasty bit.

The squirrels are regular visitors to Jane Roberts' garden in Fareham, Hampshire.

They often used to steal the food put out for the birds but now they are just crazy about coconuts.

Jane, 46, puts out two nuts a week and suspends them on pieces of string from the washing line.

She said: "I make a large hole in the coconut so that they can get into the flesh. The first time I saw them feeding I nearly died laughing, they looked just like a pair of spacemen.

"Even now I can't stop chuckling every time I see them."

Hey, we hate you too!

Early on in the making of "Alice in Wonderland," director Tim Burton had very strong feelings about one of the characters -- and it wasn't what you would call a good feeling.

"The Cheshire Cat was a character I had a very specific image of and it's because I just have this thing about cats," Burton said. "The Cheshire Cat taps into what you might call my hatred of cats."

Ugly Director

Actor Stephen Fry ("V for Vendetta," "Bones") handles the character in the film and Burton praised him for capturing the unsettling mien of a feline.

Cute Cat

"Stephen Fry did a great job of getting that creepy quality. You know, this weird kind of floaty, too-focused, creepy -- he did it great. He has this thing of getting up close and just sitting there and staring at you, you know, like a cat. It just kind of sits there."

Burton made a noise, not unlike a tabby struggling with a hairball. "I have this thing with cats. And with Cheshire Cat it's a love-hate relationship. You can, uh, hear it in my voice can't you?"

Cats are complex! Get used to it, lame-o! I realize my 'cute cat' picture kinds of demonstrates his point, but that's part of their charm, hmm?

Pigeons

A lot of people don't like pigeons. I used to be one of those people, and then I thought, "What's my problem with those little guys?" Yeah, they're everywhere and they poop, and you can get diseases if you have to clean up their droppings, but they're cute and ridiculous! I also like squirrels and crows.
